Telangana Cabinet's no for Night Curfew and Lockdown:- The Omicron variant is on a widespread and the new positivity rate in the country reached all time high. The cases saw a sudden rise in Telangana and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) chaired a meeting with the state cabinet, TRS leaders and the officials of the state Health Ministry. The cabinet meeting went on for more than eight hours and KCR decided not to impose any lockdown or night curfews in the state. The Health Department submitted a report about the spread of the cases in the state. The state's Health Minister T Harish Rao revealed that the condition of coronavirus in the state is under control. He said that the state administered five crore doses of vaccines and all the eligible people will be given doses in the upcoming weeks.
The state Cabinet also directed the Health officials to complete the vaccination drive at the earliest and take the support of the panchayat raj department and municipal officials. The Ministers and Legislators in the state are asked to hold the meetings with all the district collectors and officials to complete the vaccination drive at the earliest in Telangana. The booster dose program too started in the state and all the eligible citizens are asked to take the dose of vaccination. During the cabinet meeting, KCR also took crucial decisions about setting up a Forest University and Women's University. Special reservations will be offered for students in Forest College.
KCR also had a detailed discussion about Manjeera Lift Irrigation Corporation to raise the funds for the construction of the Basaeshwara and Sangameshwara projects. KCR also sanctioned Rs 388.20 crores for the construction of the link canals from Mallannasagar reservoir to Tapaspally reservoir located in Siddipet.
