Narendra Modi Releases Cheetahs To Kuno National Park:- The entire nation is celebrating the birthday of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he celebrated the occasion in a unique manner. The cheetahs which were extinct in 1952 in India are imported and they are released to the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh today by the Prime Minister. Eight cheetahs landed in Gwalior from Windhoek, the capital of Namibia at 8 AM this morning on the occasion of the 72nd birthday of Narendra Modi. He called then India's guests and he said that the country will follow the international guidelines in nurturing them. Modi thanked the government of Namibia for assisting them in the project.

Congress party criticized Narendra Modi saying that the proposal of Project Cheetah was prepared in 2008-09 by Manmohan Singh and UPA government. The Supreme Court had stayed the project in 2013 and it was approved again in 2020. The imported cheetahs are one of the oldest big cat species with their ancestors 8.5 million years old. The Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia says that the number is just less than 7500 globally. The Asiatic cheetah and the northwest African cheetah are endangered critically. They lost 90 percent of their global habitat and they are living in 9 percent of its historic range.

The eight cheetahs are kept in Bomas, a smaller fenced camp and are imported from Namibia. All these are vaccinated and are fitted with a satellite collar and they underwent extensive health checkups.
