Revanth Reddy leads delegation to take stock of Medigadda barrage:- Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with his cabinet colleagues and MLAs, embarked on a visit to the Medigadda barrage, which experienced sinking pillars last year. The Medigadda barrage is renowned as the world's largest multi-stage lift irrigation project. According to the National Dam Safety Authority, around 15 to 20 pillars had sunk in October 2023. The current Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, urged MLAs from all parties, including the opposition leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao, to join the visit.
During the assembly session, Chief Minister Reddy mentioned that the Irrigation Minister, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, would present a white paper on irrigation in the coming days. He believed that a visit to the Medigadda barrage would provide an opportunity for newly-elected MLAs to gain firsthand knowledge about the issue and contribute to the debate. The Congress government launched an investigation into alleged irregularities and missing files related to the Medigadda and Annaram barrages.

Additionally, he referred to a previous report by the National Dam Safety Authority, which was disputed by the BRS government. Before adjourning for the day, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the motion on the vote on account budget 2024-25 and other necessary procedures were followed during the house session.
