In a sudden political development, Union Defense Minister and member of the congress core committee AK Antony today flew to Hyderabad from Delhi to have an unscheduled meeting with mega star and PRP chief Chiranjeevi.

PCC chief D. Srinivas received Antony at the airport and they together went to the residence of Chiranjeevi direct from the airport. Media also had no prior knowledge of the defense minister’s visit and came to know of it only after his arrival.

It is said that Antony met Chiranjeevi on the instructions of party president Sonia Gandhi and requested him to join the Kirankumar reddy cabinet immediately. Sources said that the central leader requested Chiru to join the cabinet even before the budget session of the assembly begins.

Antony’s sudden meeting with Chiranjeevi has given room to think of an imminent possible disciplinary action against the congress MLAs supporting the former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy for defying the party instructions and criticizing the leadership.
