Apollo Hospitals founder Dr Pratap C. Reddy’s daughter and the Apollo group’s joint managing director Suneetha Reddy is reportedly under the scanner of CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for her role in the 2G Spectrum scam.
CBI and the ED may soon issue summons and question Suneetha Reddy, who is also the chairperson of the Aircel, to know how she and her husband Mr Dwarakanath reddy got 26 per cent of the Aircel shares for just Rs.34 Cr when the Maxis of Malaysia paid Rs.7800 Cr for 74 per cent of the shares.
Reports said that Ms Suneetha is very close to the Textiles minister Dayanidhi Maran and using her closeness, she had procured shares in the company.
Aircel ex-CEO told the CBI that Maran had refused to grant 2G spectrum license to his company and forced him to sell his company to the Malaysian company Maxis. “He granted license to the company after I have sold out at his instance,” he told the CBI.
