President Pratibha Patil is scheduled to visit Hyderabad on July 2 and stay in the city till July 5 as part of her southern sojourn. She will leave for Tirupati on July 6 to inaugurate the newly built Annadana Satram on Tirumala from where she will fly back to Delhi.
The president last came to Hyderabad on December 24 for her southern sojourn but five days later she had to leave the city in the wake of the Telangana agitation. Even now also, the T forces are threatening to intensify their agitation to seek the resignations of the T congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs to put pressure on the Centre to declare Telangana.
The T congress leaders have in turn given ultimatum to the congress and the Centre that they would go on indefinite fast if no decision is announced by June 30.
President Pratibha Patil will therefore face the heat of Telangana agitation during her July first week trip also to Hyderabad and it is anybody’s guess whether she will be forced to cut short her visit in this round too.
