Air Show takes off with flying colors

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Mr Ajit Singh today inaugurated the third India Aviation 2012 Air show at the Begumpet airport in Hyderabad today.

The Air Show, to be run till March 18, will have on its display different models of aero planes from different countries and the show will be open for pubic view.

Boeing’s 787 aircraft , Sukhoi’s Superjet 100 , Brazil Embraer’s new Phenom 100 and 300, Air bus corporate Jet (first time), Russia’s Irkut MC-21 narrowbody jet, Bombardier, Dassault, Gulfstream, Hawker Beechcraft and Piaggio Aero’s business and commercial aircrafts are hogging the limelight at the unique show.

Helicopter manufacturers AgustaWestland, Bell Helicopter Textron, Eurocopter and Sikorsky have also put on display their products and air vehicles for public view.

The 787 Dream Liner, the world’s most advanced commercial airplane, remained a special attraction on the first of the show and will continue to be the cynosure of eyes.

The event, being organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) together, has attracted nearly 250 aviation companies from 18 countries.

Tickets available at axis bank branches

The organizers have fixed a fare of Rs.500 per head for the first three days of the show and for the last two days it would be Rs.200 per head. The tickets are available for sale at all Axis Bank branches and at the airport. (J)
