Fire accident in Tamil Nadu express on ill fated Monday morning that claimed nearly 30+ lives and left several injured, was worse of its kind recall sources on Tuesday. Chennai bound Tamil Nadu express from Delhi was involved in a fire accident at around 4.30 am, on Monday, while crossing Nellore Station (Andhra Pradesh). An alert Station Master sent the emergency message and halted the train. Coach S -11 had caught fire and nearly 30 are feared dead while the most in the compartment are critically injured. Fire started due to a short circuit near a toilet of the coach, say sources.
The dead bodies of many victims who had been charred beyond recognition are shifted to the Nellore Government hospital, say authorities. S-11 had 72 occupants, of them 17 people were from Delhi, 11 from Bhopal, 28 from Vijayawada, 7 from Warangal, 6 from Jhansi, three from Agra and one from Nagpur.
For the benefit of the kin of the passengers traveled by the ill fated S-11 coach, the authorities have released a list of persons being treated and their whereabouts at Nellore Town in Andhra Pardesh, just 2 hours from Chennai by train. Wishesh provides this list for reader utility.
