Thousands of students from Telangana area are joining the colleges in Vijayawada and Guntur to take up their Intermediate courses thanks to the strikes and agitations being planned by the pro-Telangana outfits like TRS, JAC and the TDP Telangana Forum for achieving Telangana.Most of these students are from Warangal, Karimnagar, Medak, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Mahaboobnagar. According to sources, most of the parents are not willing to take chances about their children’s education as Intermediate is a crucial phase in their academic career.
The two students T. Bhargava Reddy and J. Varun who secured eighth and ninth ranks respectively in IIT-JEE of 2011 are from Telangana area but they have pursued their studies in the colleges in Vijayawada.
The parents fear that their children’s academic future will be at stake because of the series of agitations announced by pro-Telangana outfits from July 1. In fact, the parents worry that their children will lose out to students of other regions in the state in the Intermediate and competitive examinations because of the Telangana agitation.
