Rajinikanth fans, led by producer N.V. Prasad, broke 1001 coconuts at Alipiri, the foot of the seven hills in Tirupati on Wednesday, praying for the speedy recovery of the superstar.
The fans first offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at the Padala Mandapam, then smashed the coconuts one after another on the granite floor in front of the imposing shrine, seeking the divine intervention of the Lord to see their superstar back in action on the silver screen.
The team then proceeded to the ‘Navajeevan Vriddhashram' near Tiruchanur, the abode of Goddess Padmavathi, and offered prayers to the presiding deity. They later organized ‘Annadanam' for the inmates of the old age home nearby.
