The High Court on Tuesday called for details from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams on allotment of house-sites and plots to its employees.
A division bench, comprising chief justice Madan B. Lokur and justice PV Sanjay Kumar, was dealing with a writ petition filed by three devotees challenging the resolution of the TTD and the permission of the state government to alienate immovable properties of Lord Venkateswara in favour of private individuals who include TTD employees.
The petitioners requested the court to declare the alienation of lands belonging to the Lord at SV Poor Home (25 acres), SV Dairy Farm (20 acres), Vinayaknagar (6 acres) and SGS Arts College (6 acres) in the name of house-sites to employees as illegal.
