An SC woman contestant for the reserved post of Sarpanch in Chaganam Rajupalem in Saidapuram Mandal was sexually assaulted by the Congress party men.

The woman candidate for the Panchayat polls was the only contestant for the post of Sarpanch and is expected to get the official declaration for her unanimous win after the time is up today at 3.00 for the withdrawal of the nominations.   She belongs to YSRC party.

When she did not care for the threats of some local Congress party leaders, she was sexually assaulted to intimidate and discourage her from supporting YSRCP.

Watching their movements, her grandson ran out to get help but before he returned the miscreants subjected her to insults and sexual assaults.
