Pretty shockingly I guess the gang-rape of a Swiss tourist in Madhya Pradesh was not not enough to drown us in shame, that a 25-year-old British woman on Tuesday jumped off a hotel room in Agra to save herself from an alleged sexual assault bid and suffered a leg fracture.
To get into detail, the tourist, who had checked into the hotel in Idgah area two days back, said a man entered her room early in the morning on the pretext of giving her a massage and tried to sexually assault her.
According to police, she suffered a leg fracture in the escape bid, adding that the girl has been admitted to the district hospital.
In fact, Circle Officer of Sadar police station Ram Suresh Yadav said that the police have arrested the hotel owner Sachin Chauhan who is a Delhi native, on charges of molestation and have booked him under relevant sections of IPC.
Another shame for us...
As an aftereffect of the incident, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has reviewed its travel advisory for women travellers to India, while making a reference to the gang-rape of a 39-year-old Swiss tourist in Madhya Pradesh on March 16.
While an FCO spokesperson said in London that they are aware of an incident involving a British national in Agra, India, and are urgently looking into it and they are in contact with local authorities and are providing consular assistance to the woman.
Fact – fully as the current scenario prevails, women travellers should be more caution while travelling anywhere in India whether even if they are in a group.
It's just pathetic and a shame!
