Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has filed a defamation case against a Rajkot based newspaper for dragging his name in a land grabbing and extortion case and sought a damage of Rs 51 crores. Going into the details, the publication by name 'Aabtak' dated November 20, 2014 alleged that Ravindra Jadeja and his business partner Jenesih Ajmera had links with Bali Dangar, who is facing charges of land grabbing and extortion.
Jadeja initially approached the newspaper to provide certain evidence for their claims. But there was no proper response from the editor of the newspaper and finally Jadeja knocked the court doors for justice. Jadeja's lawyer Hiren Bhatt said that, without verifying the news, the publication has damaged the reputation of my client Jadeja has never met Dangar and has no links with him. The other false allegation the newspaper made was, Ajmera is not Jadeja's business partner.
