Jet Airways Flight Skids off the Runway in Goa, 15 Passengers Injured

In a shocking incident, a Jet Airways plane with 154 passengers on board spun skidded off the runway while taking off at Goa's Dabolim airport this morning.
"The flight 9W 2374 from Goa-Mumbai skidded off the runway at Dabolim airport this morning due to a technical glitch while aligning for takeoff," Jet Airways said in a statement.
"Emergency slides were used to move passengers out of the plane. But 15 people suffered minor injuries while being evacuated", said officials.
"Images showed medical staff treating injured passengers lying on stretchers. Some may have suffered fractures", said officials.
"The airport, which has been closed after the incident, will resume operations by 9 am", the officials said.
Jet Airways flight 9W 2374 was flying off to Mumbai from Goa when this the mishap took place.
"All guests and crew have been safely evacuated. A few guests have sustained injuries during the evacuation process," a statement from Jet Airways said.

"Jet Airways flight whilst taking off from HANSA runway 26 aborted take off & spun around 360 degrees. The runway will be usable by 9 AM", Indian Navy said.
Some passengers were taken to a local hospital.
The Jet airways accident will be investigated by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). DGCA investigation begins at the Dabolim airport.
"The airline is making alternate travel arrangements for its guests to/from Goa in order to minimise inconvenience", Jet Airways said.
