Balladeer Gaddar, is rumored to enter politics. And as per speculations, it would be none other than Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena party.
The 67-year old poet, singer Gaddar, popularly known for his folk songs and poems of Telangana, would be the face of the Janasena party in the Telangana.
The speculations are gaining steam in the political circuits, as Pawan himself is a great fan of poems, folks songs with social message and particularly that of Gaddar. Gaddar, of late, has not been much active in the Maoist movement. Infact, he turned spiritual, and has been on a spree of visiting temples. The latest update is that, he would soon charge into politics directly, and Janasena would be the platform for his launch.
Gaddar songs once inspired many to join the armed Maoist rebellion against the then ruling establishment. He is quite popular in Telangana and has a mass following. Gaddar, who hails from Toopran in Medak district, is an engineering student-turned-bank employee-turned- revolutionary singer. He had taken his name from the popular Gadar party of Punjab during the Pre-Independence era.
The revolutionary poet, has founded Jana Natya Mandali, a cultural wing of Communist Party of India (CPI) - Marxist–Leninist (ML) Liberation, People’s War Group and played a key role in the Maoist movement for over four decades.
If he enters the Telangana politics through Janasena, it is expected to turn the scenario, as Congress and TDP in Telangana have lost hope in clinching power from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Few days earlier, Gaddar had made an announcement at a public meeting, that he is quitting the CPI Maoist party, with which he had been associated for more than 25 years. He further said, from now onwards, he will embrace Ambedkar, Phule ideology and serve the poor.
