Former Congress MP from Vijayawada and Samaikyandhra-crusader Lagadapati Rajagopal, has met AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, yesterday, at AP Secretariat in Velagapudi.
The meeting, which lasted about half an hour, has now triggered speculations in the political circuits.
Asked about the purpose of his visit by one of the media persons, Mr. Rajagopal said, he had discussed the issue of his power plant at Kondapalli with the Chief Minister. Talks are abuzz, that the former MP may make a re-entry into the politics, but the former MP, however, has denied all the rumors of any such plan.
Mr. Rajagopal, earlier represented Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency, which is currently being represented by Kesineni Nani, who has earned good fame, base in the constituency.
While it is still not clear whether Lagadapati would make a comeback into politics, but his meeting with Naidu is certainly the talking point. Although Lagadapati had clearly ruled-out his re-entry into politics several times, many are suspecting that the businessman-turned-politician could had changed his mind.
However, this is not the first-time, Lagadapati has met Naidu. Earlier in September 2015, he had met Naidu in Delhi. Well, let us wait and watch. Only time will tell.
The timing of the former MP’s visit assumes significance in the light of the recent incident in which the Chief Minister asked sitting MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) to tender an apology to Transport Commissioner N. Balasubramanyam for creating a scene at the RTA office. This reportedly led to a rift between the MP and the Chief Minister.
