Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan, yesterday said that he is ready to quit accepting new movie offers, so that he could take up party activities more vigorously.
The Tollywood Power star, was addressing a meeting of party activists from Anantapur district in Andhra, who had applied for the jobs, to be the party spokespersons, analysts, speakers and content writers. The actor-turned politician disproved criticism that he was “only a part time politician and full time actor”.
“I did not quite understand the “full time and part time political activity” talk. “I know several leaders who have amassed wealth and are sitting at home, but are still called “full time” politicians,” added Pawan Kalyan. “I continued to act in films for the sake of providing a livelihood for himself and for the few people who are my dependents, said the Jana Sena Chief.
“I am even prepared to forego acting for the sake of taking up brisk political activity for the Jana Sena,” said Pawan Kalyan.
Kalyan reiterated that he would contest elections from Anantapur district in the 2019 Assembly elections. He also announced that he would undertake a Padayatra in the district soon. In November last year, Kalyan had announced that he would contest in the upcoming elections from Andhra and stated that his party’s first office in Andhra, would come up in Anantapur.
On the career front, the actor is currently shooting for his next project with director Trivikram. This is third time the duo have joined hands after Jalsa and Attarintiki Daredi. Also starring Keerthy Suresh and Anu Emmanuel, the project is gearing up Sankranti release next year. Apparently, Pawan wants to do as many projects as possible before 2019 elections.
