This ghastly incident occurred in a school near Tajangi village in Chintapalle police station limits of Visakhapatnam Agency. Though the incident took place on Saturday night, it came to light yesterday, after the victims and their parents approached the local sarpanch and then lodged a complaint with the police.

The victims, along with the two boys had come to Tajangi to attend the Pothurajubabula festival on the last day of the three-day festival on May 20. When the girls were watching a cultural show, a thunder storm interrupted the programme around 11 pm on Saturday. Both the girls along with the boys took refuge in a nearby building.

The duo then called six more of their friends and entered the school building. They impersonated as police men and scared the minors. The accused beat the two boys, who accompanied the girls, and then raped them.

The relatives of the victims rushed to the spot, when the girls raised an alarm, and thrashed the accused who later fled away.

The accused have been identified as K. Varun, son of A. Angadha Rao, a TDP MPTC; K. Nagendra, son of GK Veedhi head constable K. Ganesh; P. Divakar, M. Hari Govinda Prasad and K. Bheema Naidu. The identities of three other accused are yet to be confirmed.
