Anakapalli Session Court Issues Sensational Verdict On Former MLA Chengala Venkata Rao:- Anakapalli sessions court has issued a sensational verdict against former MLA of Payakarao Pet constituency in Visakhapatnam district, Chengala Venkata Rao.

Venkata Rao has been sentenced to life imprisonment, while five of them were sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Ten years ago, a fisherman named Gossala Konda died in an agitation against the BMC company in the village of Nakkapally in Nakkapalli mandal.

The case was filed against the followers of Venkatarao, and the MLA in the Anakapalli sessions court, for the death of a fisherman, which was prosecuted on Wednesday.

Venkata Rao served two terms as an MLA of the Telugu Desam Party in 1999 and 2004. Chengala is also a successful film producer. In the 2009 elections, Venkata Rao contested and was defeated by Golla Babu Rao of the Congress Party. Golla babu Rao was disqualified from this MLA post and by elections were held recently to Payakaraopet Constituency. Babu Rao contested again on the ticket of YSR Congress Party and defeated Chengala Venkata Rao who was fielded by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The TDP suffered a big jolt in the district in 2012, when Venkat Rao announced his resignation from the party and decision to join the YSR Congress on September 15 2012.
