Telangana Govt Committed To Welfare Of Muslims : Harish Rao:- Irrigation Minister, T. Harish Rao has said that Telangana government is committed to the welfare of the Muslims.
The Minister, greeted the Muslims on the eve of holy Ramadan at Iqbal Minar located near Sufi Dargha in Siddipet town on Monday. Within a short span of time after State was formed, the Telangana Rastra Samithi’s (TRS) government has initiated several measures for the benefit of Muslims, said Harish Rao.
Around 200 Minority Residential Schools have been started by the Telangana government with a sole motive to provide top class education to poor Muslims. On the eve of Ramadan, we have distributed groceries and clothes to over 4 lakh poor Muslims, said Harish Rao. He has further said that they were also offering Rs 20 lakh scholarship to the children of poor Muslims who were going for overseas education since Chief Minister, K.Chandrasekhar Rao was very particular on the development of Muslims.
Telangana is the only State in the country to identify Ramadan as the State festival. Keeping up their electoral promise of providing 12% reservations, the Minister has said that they had passed the bill in State Assembly and sent for centre’s approval. Ramadan was celebrated in a grand way across Sididpet district. A huge number of Muslims have gathered at Mosques and Idgas to participate in special prayers.
They were seen exchanging the greetings all over the town. The Hindus were seen wishing Muslims living in the neighborhood and colleagues, as a fine example of communal harmony.
