Mahankali Rangam Predicts Prosperity To Telangana:- During the Bonalu festivities on Monday, the Oracle at the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Hyderabad, has predicted that the State will receive rains on time this year, while its people will live happily and witness rich harvests.

Rangam is a ritual conducted on the concluding day of the annual Bonalu Jatara at the Ujjaini Mahankali temple. The future of the State every year is predicted by the Oracle, Swarnalatha. She stands on a pot at the end of the Jatara. Swarnalatha said the state will receive good amount of rains and the people will be safe and happy this year. The Bonalu jatara came to a close after the Rangam. However, till Tuesday morning, the devotees will continue to have Ammavaru darshan. She expressed slight displeasure pointing out that the ritualistic sacrifices made as part of the festival were not adequate, but still said the people would live happily.

The two-day festival concludes past midnight on Monday.

Addressing the media, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said  the feast was conducted smoothly and lakhs of devotees had participated in the Jatara. Responding on the reports of Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya's vehicle being stopped at a distance from the temple, Talasani said it could be because of heavy rush on Sunday and there was no political reasons. He further apologized to Dattatreya, the BJP's senior leader and Secunderabad MP, for the inconvenience caused due to the act of police.
