TDP Leads By 16k Votes In Nandyal By-Elections:- After six rounds of counting of votes, it is indicating TDP’s victory in Nandyal by-poll.
The counting of first six rounds were from the rural areas in Nandyal. It is irony given belief that YSRCP has good base in the rural regions and TDP in urban areas. Contrary to this, even the rural voters are with TDP.
TDP is in lead in six consecutive rounds, and has secured more than expected majority. To be recalled, in the previous 2004, 2009 and 2014 general elections, the TDP did not win the Nandyal seat. TDP’s Bhuma Bhramananda Reddy is leading with 16465 votes. Brahmananda Reddy is fielded against YSRCP candidate Shilpa Mohan Reddy. Meanwhile, celebrations have started at Bhuma’s household.
The by-poll is expedited after sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy (who won on YSRCP ticket and later joined TDP) died of cardiac arrest. Hence, it turned more significant for both TDP and YSRCP ahead of 2019 polls. CM Chandrababu Naidu’s development plank, Bhuma family’s commitment and various other factors seem to have worked in favor of the ruling TDP.
