Deceased Journalist Gauri Lankesh Brother Demands CBI Probe Into Murder:- A day after killing of senior journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, her brother Indrajit has demanded a CBI probe into the murder. He further said that she had received no threats.
Addressing media, Indrajit said Gauri Lankesh was shot in the chest, and the murder was recorded on the CCTV camera installed at her residence. Gauri Lankesh, the senior Kannada weekly tabloid editor was shot dead outside her house in Bengaluru last night.

“She was an activist, and she was doing her job. There were no threats as of now as far as we know. She was shot in her chest. CCTV captured everything. We request police to open it in front of my mother and me,” Gauri Lankesh’s brother told media. ”
“We demand a CBI probe. We’ve seen Kalburgi issue that state investigated and with sadness, I say they’ve not done anything,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar also said that the slain journalist did not complain of any threats. He further added that if there was any, then that will be thoroughly investigated. Three special teams have been set up by the Karnataka police to nab the killers of Gauri Lankesh.
“Of the seven fired, four missed the target and hit the wall of the house. Three bullets had hit her - two in her chest area and one in the forehead,” the top cop had told media earlier.
The killing of Gauri Lankesh was strongly condemned by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Smriti Irani. She further demanded a speedy investigation on the murder. “Condemn killing of… Gauri Lankesh. Hope speedy investigation is conducted and justice delivered. Condolences to the family,” Irani said in a tweet.
