Huge Fire Breaks Out Near Bandra Railway Station In Mumbai:- In yet another tragic mishap, Mumbai has witnessed a huge fire breaking out near Bandra railway station on Thursday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out in a slum area in Behrampada of Bandra East. At around 3:20 pm, the fire department received a call about the fire. To bring the fire under control, as many as 16 fire engines and 10 water tankers were pressed into service. So far, luckily no injury has been reported in the incident.
Billowing out from the site, a thick black smoke was seen. The local train operations were also affected. As a precautionary measure, the train services between Bandra and Andheri on the Harbour Line were also halted. However, after the Railway authorities gave a go ahead, services resumed later. The fire did not affect the local train services on the Western and Central Lines.
“We have stopped Harbor line up and down services from 4.25 pm as a precautionary measure owing to fire near the Bandra station on the east side,” the chief PRO of the Central Railway said.
When the fire reportedly broke out, a demolition work was underway. A video shared by a local shows thick black smoke at the east side of the Bandra railway station. Due to the fire, the exit gate of the Bandra railway station has been closed.
