Nationalized Bank Branch Manager Arrested On Rape Charges:- A senior police officer said, a branch manager of a rationalized bank was arrested for allegedly raping a a 20-year-old Russian woman repeatedly ever since she came to India in September. The duo forged a friendship on social media site, Facebook.
"The manager of UCO Bank's Vrindaban branch, Mahendra Prasad Singh, has been arrested based on a complaint filed by the woman," Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Shanker Mishra said on Friday.
The banker "threatened me with dire consequences" if she disclosed his act to anyone, alleged the woman in her complaint. She has been sent for medical examination.
As per the FIR, on November 2016, she came into contact with Singh through Facebook. Afterwards, they had frequent conversations. She came to India on September 17, on his advice, and stayed in the temple town of Vrindavan.
On September 22, she was taken to a house, where she was raped and that her ordeal continued since then, alleged the woman. After she met another Russian woman who counselled her to do so, the complaint was filed, said the victim.
