Modi To Meet DMK Prez Karunanidhi In Chennai Today:- As per the BJP and DMK sources, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will be meeting DMK President M. Karunanidhi on Monday in Chennai.
The situation arising due to heavy rains and floods in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu, was discussed by the Prime Minister with Chief Minister E Palanisamy and his deputy O Panneerselvam, after Modi landed in Chennai. All assistance would be given from the Centre, assured Modi.
On landing in Chennai, PM @narendramodi discussed the situation arising due to heavy rains and floods in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu with the CM & Dy CM of the state. He assured them of all assistance from the Centre.

To attend the platinum jubilee function of a vernacular daily, Modi is in Chennai. “During his visit to Tamil Nadu today, PM Sh Narendra Modiji will visit senior-most leader from the state and former CM M Karunanidhi,” BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao said in a tweet.

The meeting was also confirmed by the DMK sources, who said that the two leaders are scheduled to meet at 12:30 pm at Karunanidhi’s Gopalapuram residence. Apart from this, the wedding of the daughter of Dr TV Somanathan, a senior official in the PMO, at Raja Annamalaipuram, will also be attended by Mr. Modi.
In October 2016, due to a drug-induced allergy, Karunanidhi fell ill. He was admitted to the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai twice, in last December. In the first week of December, the veteran leader was admitted to the hospital for “optimisation of nutrition and hydration” and due to a throat and lung infection, later. Karunanidhi had also undergone tracheostomy, a procedure to optimise breathing.
