Special Ordinance In Telangana To Make Telugu Must:- The Government of Telangana decided to make Telugu compulsory for all the students from Class 1 to 12th in the state. A special ordinance has been taken on this and the draft has been referred to the law ministry to get it approved. All the schools that fall in the state that includes, IB, CBSE and ICSE will be brought under the ordinance. The will be applicable from the academic year 2018-19.

Telangana Chief Minister KCR announced the decision of the Government to make Telugu compulsory in all the schools during the World Telugu Conference that took place in December 2017. Instead of passing the act, Telangana government decided to bring the ordinance first. The new academic year starts in March for CBSE and ICSE. Hence not to face any road blocks, the ordinance has been taken. Once the ordinance will be passed by the law department, it will be sent to the Governor and he will issue the ordinance. Earlier, Karnataka Government made it mandatory for Kannada compulsory in all the schools of the state.
