Rajamouli Seen In Short Film On Online Frauds:- The Cyber Crime Police has produced and launched 5 short films to spread awareness among public on the Çybercrimes. The launch happened at Prasad Film Labs by V V Srinivas Rao the Commissioner of Police. The films are focused on how crimes happen online for jobs, matrimonial frauds, social media offenses, OTP frauds, and multi-level marketing frauds.
Srinivasa Rao has reportedly said, “In India, Facebook alone has more than 250 billion users, highest than any other country, and day by day many people are joining the social media sharing their sensitive data. This becomes difficult for the police to monitor.”
“In some northern States of India, mobile operators and some banking institutions are not following the rules while issuing sim cards, or bank accounts which allow swindlers to procure sim cards with fake documents. Using those fake identities, the frauds are calling innocent people,” he added.
In a short film on OTP frauds, eminent Telugu director SS Rajamouli is seen discouraging on sharing debit or credit card numbers, CVV numbers, expiry dates, and OTP numbers with people making phone calls, so as to avoid frauds. No bank can ask either online or on calls for sensitive personal information to the customer. The film focuses on how offenders are taking online route for easy money.
These films are expected to be screened at the cinema theaters for spreading message and educating common man so as to avoid menace. The short films are inspired from the cyber crimes reported in the past and hence, the viewers are more likely to be associated with the film.
Avinash Mohanty, the DCP of cyber crimes said that they would upload the short films in YouTube and other social media platforms for quicker and extensive circulation.
