Government Slashes Petrol And Diesel Prices:- The Centre has been facing huge heat after the huge hike in the petrol and diesel charges. After 16 continuous days of hike in the fuel charges, they witnessed a slight drop on Wednesday. The price of petrol has been cut down by 60 paisa in New Delhi and 59 paisa in Mumbai. The prices of diesel have been cut down by 56 paisa in New Delhi and 59 paisa in Mumbai. This has been a relief for people who are concerned about the hike of the fuel prices on regular basis from the past 16 days.

The revised petrol prices are Rs 77.83 in Delhi, Rs 85.65 in Mumbai, Rs 80.47 in Kolkata and Rs 80.80 in Chennai. The revised diesel prices are said to be Rs 68.75 in Delhi, Rs 73.20 in Mumbai, Rs 71.30 in Kolkata and Rs 72.58 in Chennai. Petrol and diesel prices in India are linked to Singapore gasoline prices GL95-SIN and Arab Gulf diesel prices GO-AG. The prices vary from state to state because of the local taxes. The Centre is in plans to hold talks to reduce the taxes after which the fuel charges may cut down.
