Bharat Bandh: Protests Across The Country On Fuel Price Hike:- The whole country has been protesting against the hike in fuel prices after all the opposition parties called for a Bharat bandh. Normal life has been disrupted in several parts of the country. Protests have been initiated all over, train services have been disrupted and shops across the country remained closed. Several schools and colleges have been closed on this occasion. Vehicles have been vandalized across India. BJP led states had low impact as strict security has been imposed.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi participated in the protests in Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi. NCP chief Sharad Pawar and former JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav along with Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh participated in the protests. They slammed Narendra Modi and BJP for not taking care about the key issues. Marches have been held across AP and Telangana. 21 political parties supported bandh against BJP as petrol and diesel prices touched all time high.

Congress demanded that the petrol and diesel prices should be brought under GST after which the prices could drop upto Rs 18.
