Vijayashanti Keen on Contesting from Medak: Telangana's fire brand woman politician Vijayashanti hasn't been seen across the political circles of Telangana from the past few years after she tasted a defeat in the last elections. Vijayashanti made her comeback recently and has been assigned a crucial position in Congress. The high command feels that Vijayashanti can pull off in the upcoming Telangana elections and wants her to contest as per her choice. There have been speculations that Vijayashanti may stand in polls from Kukatpally or Dubbaka.

But the Congress high command suggested her to contest from Medak. Vijayashanti contested and won Medak MP seat in 2009. Though Vijayashanti has been away from the past few years, Congress feels that she is a huge crowd puller and can bring huge numbers in the polls. She even will be campaigning across various constituencies informed a close source from Congress. Though Vijayashanti is not keen on contesting in polls, after the high command insisted, Vijayashanti decided to take part in the upcoming elections.
