Narendra Modi Announces 10% Reservation For The Economically Backward:- With Lok Sabha elections heading this year, Narendra Modi and his NDA Government came up with a decision of 10% reservation in jobs for all those who hail from economically backward families from the general category. The Government is in plans to amend the constitution to introduce this change. This will bring up the reservation cap from 50% to 60%. All those who come from upper castes and those family income is below Rs 8 lakhs per anum will fall under this category.

Narendra Modi and BJP feels that this is a great move to consolidate the upper caste votes before the Lok Sabha polls that will take place this year. The bill is expected to be introduced in Lok Sabha tomorrow. Modi took a call about this after he discussed this with the cabinet and the constitutional amendment will be made tomorrow. Two Articles 15 and 16 should be amended to enable the additional 10% quota.
