Jio Subscribers To Be Charged For Calling Other Company Customers:- Reliance Jio Infocomm started charging for voice calls that are made to the subscribers of other telecom networks. The move came to account for the termination charges it pays its rivals Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. In a statement Reliance Jio said that it was compelled to start charging 6 paise per minute for its 350 million users to recover the Interconnect Usage Charge (IUS) which is paid by Jio over these years. Jio also said that it would compensate the users through additional data.

Jio said that there would be no effective increase in the tariffs for its customers from Jio to Jio and to landlines. Jio also said that the subscribers can make uninterrupted Whatsapp calls as there would be additional data provided. Top-up vouchers of Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 100 are available from October 10th for additional IUC minutes. Jio also said that they would cut down these IUC charges once TRAI stops charging them.
