12-Year-Old Girl Restricted From Entering Into Sabarimala Temple:- A 12-year-old girl has been restricted from entering the premises of Sabarimala temple by the Kerala police. She started trekking to the temple along with her family. During the online booking, her family presented her as 10 years old. The police examined her Aadhaar card and came to know that she was 12 years old. She was stopped at the Pamba base camp and her family was allowed to proceed for the darshan at Sabarimala temple. The temple was opened on Saturday for the 41-day annual pilgrimage.

Ten thousand security personnel have been deployed at Pamba and women police officers are on duty to check the age proof of the women who are for their visit. On the first day, five women have been stopped from entering the temple premises. The women have been asked to return back. The base camp is located at 5 kms away from the temple. Last week, the Supreme Court referred the petitions challenging its 2018 judgment to a larger bench. The seven-bench judges are looking into the matter.
