Telangana is the Fifth Most Corrupted State in the Country:- Telangana emerged as the fifth most corrupt state in the country while the other Telugu speaking state Andhra Pradesh is ranking 13th. The details are revealed through the survey 'India Corruption Survey-2019'. Rajasthan is the most corrupted state in the country and it is followed by Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Kerala is the least corrupted state in the country while Goa and Odisha are next to Kerala among the list of least corrupted states.

India Corruption Survey-2019 is conducted in collaboration with Transparency International India. The organization studied 21 states in which 8.1 lakh respondents participated in the survey. The Property Registration and Land Issues department in both Telugu states has become the most corrupt as per the survey. They are followed by the Municipal Corporation said the survey. Out of the 5500 respondents in Telangana, 67% of them admitted of paying bribes for their work to be done in the state. The corruption cases in these departments too increased in Telangana.

Transparency International released India's ranking in the Corruption Perception Index 2018 and the country is ranked 78 out of the 180 countries.
