KCR Hikes Liquor Prices: Rs 4000 Cr Profits for Telangana:- Telangana Chief Minister KCR took a call on the excise duty and the Telangana government announced a hike in the liquor charges. They would be hiked by 20% and the new prices will come into effect from tomorrow. The new liquor policy alone left profits of Rs 935 crores for the Telangana government. Now with the hike in the prices, the Telangana government is expected to earn Rs 4000 crores more per year. The quarter bottle price will go up by Rs 20, half bottle will be increased by Rs 40 and full bottle by Rs 80.
Foreign liquor brands will be increased by Rs 150. Light beer bottle price is increased by Rs 20 and strong beet got a price hike by Rs 10. Telangana government is expected a sale of Rs 20,000 crores through liquor and with the price hike, they would get Rs 4000 cores more. With the new policy coming from tomorrow, the government asked all the liquor shops to stop ordering new stock for the two days. The new prices will be introduced from tomorrow.
