Hyderabad Liquor Sales Reach all Time High:- With New Year arriving, Hyderabad city witnessed a record sale in liquor. Liquor flowed like anything and the citizens spent a whopping amount of Rs 210 crores on the occasion in the city alone. Rs 350 crores was the estimated amount spent in Telangana on liquor on December 31st night alone. A record number of 1,91,323 cases of beer was slod out and 2,11,515 cases of Indian made liquor was sold on Tuesday night alone. Hyderabad catered 60% of the sales from the state. The numbers are as per the news from Times of India.

This is the highest ever sale in Hyderabad till date said a source. Several liquor shops came out with innovative ideas to increase the sales on the New Year's eve. Hyderabad liquor shops witnessed long queues. Hyderabad cops kept strict checks all over the city and 71 people are caught in drink and drive checks. Hyderabad Metro witnessed a record number of 4.6 footfalls till the midnight of January 1st. This is about 40,000 passengers more than the normal days.
