CPI Inks An Alliance With TDP For Local Body Polls:- The Communist Party of India (CPI) inked a deal with the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TD) for the upcoming local body polls in the state. The rural and urban polls for local bodies in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to take place between March 21st and 29th. The elections would be held in four phases. CPI Secretary K Ramakrishna held a meeting with TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu after which he met the press and informed the news. The exact sharing will be announced in the next couple of days said Ramakrishna.
CPI is in alliance with CPM and they requested TDP not to stage candidates where CPM is contesting. On the other side, Janasena inked an alliance with BJP and the duo is contesting together to face the leading YSRCP in the local body elections. The first phase of Mandal and Zilla Parishad elections will be held on March 21st across Andhra Pradesh and the second phase will be held on March 23rd. In the next phase, the gram panchayat elections will be held on March 27th and 29th.
