YS Jagan Slams SEC For Pushing Local Body Polls:- The State Election Commission (SEC) took a sensational decision to postpone the local body polls in Andhra Pradesh which did not go well with the leading YSRCP party and the Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. The Chief Minister slammed the State Election Commission for pushing the elections. YS Jagan said that Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar was appointed as the Election Commissioner during Chandra Babu Naidu's regime and he has been playing caste-based politics. Jagan reminded that Chandra Babu and Ramesh Kumar come from the same caste.
"Ramesh Kumar is showing bias in conducting the elections. His statement left me hurt as Ramesh Kumar took the decision without consulting any senior officials of the government. SEC also took a call to stop the government from transferring the collectors, distributing the house sites. The elections should be held as per the current schedule. There is no threat for the state due to coronavirus" said YS Jagan. Before this, State Election Commission pushed the elections by six weeks citing the scare of coronavirus and the recent attacks staged by YSRCP on the leaders of the opposition parties.
