68 Telangana Junior Colleges Get Closure Notices:- The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) issued closure notices to 68 private junior colleges across several districts of Telangana. BIE proceeded with the step after all these colleges failed to produce a No Objection Certificate (NoC) which is mandatory for seeking the affiliation. Among the 68 colleges, there are 18 Sri Chaitanya Junior Colleges, 26 Narayana Junior Colleges. All these colleges are located in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Khammam, Medchal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Nizamabad districts of the state. All the colleges with a height of 15 meters and above (G+5) should obtain a mandatory NoC from the Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department.

All the 68 colleges are operated without obtaining NoC after which the BIE issued closure notices. All the colleges submitted an affidavit to the Board of Intermediate Education that they would shift the college to new premises and would follow the fire safety norms from the next academic year. The BIE issued a conditional affiliation for the year. With the academic year coming to an end and no new updates, BIE issued closure notices. It was noticed that these colleges are admitting students without submitting the proper documents. BIE Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel said that these colleges cannot run colleges anymore in the same buildings. He also said that these colleges should shift their colleges at the earliest and ensure fire safety.
