Telangana Liquor Sales Touch Rs 100 Cr Mark:- The wine marts across Telangana got opened after a gap of 45 days across the state. Except for the 15 shops that fall in the containment zones, 2200 other shops of Telangana started the sale of liquor from yesterday. The day one sale has touched Rs 100 crore mark easily. The people rushed to the wine marts in huge numbers from the morning. Telangana Chief Minister KCR issued strict orders that stringent action will be taken on all those who would not follow social distancing. The cops have been deployed across the state to monitor the sale and to prevent unexpected incidents amid coronavirus lockdown. The shops in Telangana will be operating from 10AM till 6PM every day and the prices went high in the state by 16%.

Most of the shops went out of stock by the evening. There has been a huge shortage of workers to transport the liquor. 60% of the revenue has been generated from the limits of GHMC alone. All the 19 liquor depots of Telangana are having a full stock of liquor. All the distilleries and breweries of Telangana started operating from Wednesday. With the coronavirus lockdown, only 30% employees are attending their duties and this may soon result in the shortage of liquor as the sales are quite high. The sales are expected to be high for a week as most of them are buying huge stocks and returning homes considering the lockdown.
