Police Beat Up Migrant Workers In Guntur:- With the country under lockdown, the migrant workers have been struggling for food and they are struggling to return back to their home states as there is no work due to lockdown. Several videos surfaced across social media after the AP cops have been spotted beating a bunch of migrant laborers who were on their way to their homes on Saturday and Sunday. The Guntur cops behaved ruthlessly and are spotted beating the migrants with lathis who stepped out of the shelter homes. As per the state Information and Public Relations Department, state Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney ordered migrants to be sent to the relief centers.

More than 1000 migrant laborers from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Jharkhand have been shifted to a private club in Tadepalli. Some of them resumed their journey on cycles and by walk after which the cops stopped them and used lathis. Some of the migrant workers got injured in this incident. All these migrants were taken back to the shelter homes after the lathi-charge. The videos went viral across social media and the cops have been criticized for their brutal acts against the poor migrants who have been struggling to reach their homes.
