AP High Court's Sensational Judgment On Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar:- The High Court of Andhra Pradesh took a sensational decision on the dismissal of Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the Chief Election Commissioner of the state. The ordinance has been canceled which was filed by the government of Andhra Pradesh on May 10th after the AP Government made amendments to the AP Panchayat Raj Act. Through this act, the tenure of State Election Commissioner has been reduced from five years to three yeas. A high court bench headed by J K Maheshwari and Justice Satyanarayana canceled the ordinance. This came as a rude shock for the government of Andhra Pradesh.

Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar returned back as the Chief Election Commissioner of the state. It all started after Ramesh Kumar cancelled the local body polls in Andhra Pradesh considering the coronavirus pandemic which did not go well with the AP Government. The High Court ruled out the Government Orders that are issued. The bench said that the government has no powers to make changes to the Article 213 made as per the Indian constitution. Right after his removal, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar approached the High Court challenging the decision of the AP Government.TDP and BJP leaders too filed petitions in the High Court challenging the ordinance.
