Indian Railways to Run 80 New Trains from September 12th

Indian Railways to Run 80 New Trains from September 12th:- Indian Railways announced that it would run 80 new trains (40 new pairs) starting from September 12th. The reservation for these new trains will begin on September 10th. Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board revealed the news to the media today. There are 230 special trains operating in the country since May after two months of a complete break because of the coronavirus pandemic. With the addition of these 80 trains, the total number operating in the country would touch 310. All the rules that are implemented for the 230 trains will be applicable for the new 80 trains and they will run with limited stops.

The number of stops is taken into consideration from the state governments through which these trains run. All the passenger trains are suspended by the Indian Railways since March 25th when the country came under complete lockdown. The Special Shramik trains started operating from May 1st with limited stops following all the issued social distancing guidelines. Indian Railways will be monitoring all the trains that are under operation. The new trains are planned in the routes of Delhi-Indore, Yesvantpur-Gorakhpur, Puri-Ahmedabad, New Delhi-Bengaluru.

There would be clone trains running if there is huge demand for the tickets. The Indian Railways also informed that it would run special and weekly or daily trains as per the special requirement in case of exams or other special purposes. Yadav said that the occupancy of 230 trains increased from 75% to 80% recently. The bullet train project is progressing well.
