Fake Currency Worth Rs 1 Crore Deposited in RBI

Fake Currency Worth Rs 1 Crore Deposited in RBI:- A heap of fake currency notes is deposited in various banks of the country and they reached the Reserve Bank of India. The total worth of the fake currency is said to be Rs 1 crore. The assistant manager of Reserve Bank of India in Lucknow's Metropolitan Kotwali filed a complaint about the fake notes that are deposited in various banks between 2017 and 2018. Ranjana Maravi, the assistant manager of RBI Lucknow told that 15,436 fake notes are deposited in the currency chest in the Reserve Bank of India between October 2017 and March 2018.

The investigation said that 9753 notes of Rs 500 and 5783 notes of Rs 1000 are found as fake notes. The total amount of fake currency is located to be Rs 1.05 crores. Ranjana Maravi asked the metropolitan cops to conduct a forensic examination of the notes that are seized. A file has been registered as per the complaint of Ranjana Maravi and inspector Mahanagar Yashkant Singh is investigating the case. The RBI officials said that most of the fake currency has been entering into the country from Bangladesh and Nepal.
