GITAM University Buildings Demolished In Vizag:- The prestigious GITAM University located in Vizag is facing the heat from the government of Andhra Pradesh. The officials of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) started the process of demolition this morning. The main entrance along with the boundary walls, security premises along with some of the buildings are currently demolished using bulldozers. Huge security has been imposed across the Bheemili region and the around the premises of Gitam University. The management of Gitam University alleged that the demolition process got initiated without issuing any notices for the university.

The beach road which heads to Gitam University has been closed from both the sides and tight security is imposed. TDP leaders and supporters gathered in huge numbers after the demolition process started. The University management said that they have informed about the process of demolition this morning and the officials, management too was not allowed to enter into the premises. They alleged that the markings are not made prior to the demolition and they are done currently. On the other side, RDO Kishore says that 40 acres of the government land has been acquired illegally by the Gitam University and they have been informed about the demolition long ago.
The demolition process will continue in phases and all the occupied land will be acquired by the government authorities very soon, said Kishore. He said that a clear survey has been conducted from the past five months and the officials of Gitam University are informed about the same.
