Hyderabad Metro Creates Green Corridor To Transport Heart:- In a major development and for the first time, the Hyderabad Metro turned out to transport a heart for the transplant from LB Nagar's Kamineni Hospitals to Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills. The organ was harvested from a 45-year-old man whose brain was dead and it was transported from Nagole metro station to Jubilee Hills Check post metro station today. The 20-km distance was covered in less than 30 minutes which usually takes more than an hour on road during the traffic hours in the city. A special train was arranged at Nagole to pick up the heart at 3:30 PM today. The entire stretch of 16 stations was covered at the earliest.

The metro train traveled at a speed of 40 kmph and all the stations were kept at guard. The other services were kept on hold during this time. An ambulance was kept ready at the Jubilee Hills metro station to rush the heart to the hospital. Apollo Hospitals issued an official statement and this is the first time Hyderabad Metro is used for this purpose. A green corridor was arranged between Global Hospital in Lakadikapool to KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad in October 2020.
