Biological E's Corbevax could be the cheapest vaccine in India:- Biological E's Corbevax could be the cheapest vaccination for coronavirus in India and it is priced at Rs 500 for both the doses. Biological E's Corbevax is yet to get its approval for emergency use in the country. Corbevax is an RBD protein sub-unit vaccine and will be available for public usage in the country in the next few months as per the report from the Union Health Ministry. Some of the reports say that Corbevax may be priced at Rs 400 or even less for both the doses. The final price of the vaccine will be announced after it is approved. As of now, Covaxin, Covishield and Sputnik V are the available vaccines in the country.

Covishield is priced at Rs 300 per dose for the state governments and Rs 600 per dose for private hospitals. Covaxin is priced at Rs 400 per dose for state governments and Rs 1200 for private hospitals. Sputnik V is priced at Rs 995 per dose. The first and second phase of trials for Corbevax are quite positive and the third phase of the trials are underway. The Indian government pre-ordered 300 million doses of Corbevax already and made a payment of Rs 1500 crores. Biological E based in Hyderabad got the approval from the Central Drugs and Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO) for the third phase of the clinical trials for the coronavirus vaccine. Biological E in association with Baylor College of Medicine, USA is developing the vaccine. They are keen on manufacturing 1 billion doses next year.
