Indian coronavirus tally just above 1 lakh mark:- The fresh cases of coronavirus seem to decline for now after the wave reported more than 4 lakh new cases. The wave is slowly calming down and a total number of 1,00,636 new cases for coronavirus are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. The total number of reported cases in India now reached 2,89,09,975. A total number of 1,74,399 people got discharged in the country in the last 24 hours and the total number of discharges reported stands at 2,71,59,180. With 2427 new deaths, the total death tally reached 3,49,186 and there are 14,01,609 active cases of coronavirus in the country for now. The total number of people who took up the vaccination shot for coronavirus reached 23,27,86,482.

A new variant of coronavirus, B.1.1.28.2 is detected in India by the National Institute of Virology in Pune. Tamil Nadu continued to be the most impacted state with 20,421 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala continued to report high number of cases and deaths. The lockdown restrictions are eased in Delhi and Maharashtra from today in various phases. Delhi metro is all set to operate with 50 percent occupancy. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan addressed a meeting with a group of ministers about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
